The services we perform include:
Professional cleanings are the cornerstone of a thorough oral health regimen. Yes, brushing, flossing, and rinsing every day is essential, and doing so will make our cleanings shorter and pain-free, but a twice annual cleaning accomplishes what you cannot do on your own. That specialized brushing, polishing, flossing, and fluoride makes all the difference. For a thirty-minute investment of your time, you can fulfill the best preventative measure in maintaining a healthy smile.
Dental fillings come in a variety of types and serve several purposes. Teeth may be filled with gold, porcelain, silver, or composite resin. They are used to remove decay, repair minor fractures, and restore worn down teeth. The severity of your cavity or injury will be one of the determining factors in which type of filling the dentist recommends. Your medical history, aesthetics, budget, and personal preferences will also be taken into consideration. A local anesthetic will be used to dull any pain during the procedure. After a filling, we hope you will find biting and chewing less painful, your teeth less sensitive to hot and cold foods, and overall a more comfortable mouth.
Exams and X-rays
Each visit to our office will include some sort of exam. During your first visit, or at your twice-yearly cleaning, the dentist will want to complete a comprehensive exam. This will, likely, include X-rays. We will be looking for any signs of weakness or abnormalities in your teeth and gums. Diagnostic imaging may also be necessary in cases of injury or trauma. In those cases, you may have only a limited exam, while we concentrate on the immediate issue at hand. Any time you are having an exam, please do not hesitate to bring up any issues you are having with your mouth. Exams are the perfect time to discuss your oral health. If you have been experiencing any kind of pain or discomfort, let us be proactive about investigating, diagnosing, and treating whatever is ailing you.
Dental emergencies don’t schedule themselves on the calendar and they are never convenient. They are often sudden. Finding yourself or a loved one in an emergency can be nerve-wracking. When you need help fast, do not panic, we are here for you! No matter the situation, be it acute pain, a chipped or lost tooth, or a broken crown, we are available in any emergency. We will get you treated as soon as possible and see that you are pain free in no time.
Occasionally, teeth are simply damaged beyond repair, and there is nothing we can do to save them. It might be because you have suffered some sort of injury or trauma. In this case an extraction (removing the entire tooth) may be the only option. Trust us, your dentist wants this to be the last resort. The doctor will perform a thorough inspection to see if there is any rational way to save the tooth. It is important for you to be aware of any possible alternatives. Extractions may be simple or surgical. When an extraction is performed, we make every effort to keep you calm, comfortable, and pain free.
